Most Third
World Internet Marketers can be classified as small/individual/home-based netreprenuers with added impediments
the definition of a Third World Marketer), and a tight or small budget. In
the past, most of the superior Internet Marketing essentials including web
hosting, marketing tools, and resources can only be purchased from the US.
It is always not very cost-effective to purchase these essential products.
The currency conversion rate will kill us off due to the stronger US dollar,
the international currency of e-commerce.
The good news is that this
little setback may be a thing of the past. In fact, at this point of
writing, I noticed that there are some major advantages for a Third World
Internet Marketers over their First World counterparts as follows:
Increase in
Affordability and Effectiveness
The trend shows that that
there are increasingly more tools, products and services that are catering
for this segment of the market. As such, they are getting more affordable
each day, even by a Third World Internet Marketer's standard. As the
affluent market in the US, UK and other major countries in the Euro becomes
saturated, established websites/businesses are now focusing their attention
on the "small players" that are tight in budget such as homemakers,
pensioners, students, and those looking for a second revenue stream to boost
their day-job pay. Third World Internet Marketers fit this segment of the
market perfectly.
Today is the best time ever
in the history of Internet business to start a web business as besides being
affordable, the products/tools/services have also gotten more advanced and
effective than those first produced in the last century.
Increasing Opportunities
in an Increasing Market
Just as it was in the
1990s, making (enough) money online is still not as easy as it appears, even
for First World Internet Marketers. Most Internet Marketers can attest to
this. As a matter of fact, various sources point to the fact that
only about 10% or less of all Internet Marketers worldwide can be considered
as successful. This clearly indicates that the opportunities are still abundant for
anyone, regardless of where they are residing. On top of this, the number of
netizens is still growing exponentially, and most of these newbies are from
a Third World Internet Country. English may not be the biggest impediment to
establishing a successful web business.
Increase in Converted
Profitability
At present, most currency
of Third World Internet Country is much weaker than the US greenback. The
British Pound and the Euro are even much stronger. Even for a medium sized company in a
Third World Internet Country, they will be considered "small" if
profitability is taken as a measurement. The currency exchange would make
them relatively "modest" compared to even a home-based business in the US or
the UK. For example, a millionaire in Malaysia today is only worth
US$263,000 in America and UK166,000 in England.
BUT on the other side of
the coin, the smarter Third World Internet Marketers will normally sell
their products at standard market price, generally valued in USD, which will
rake in larger profit when converted back to their country's currency. In
fact, even petty commissions from affiliate programs can be rather
flattering after conversion.
So, what is the prospect
for Internet Marketers residing in a Third World Internet country?
Extremely Bright!
In fact,
Internet business is very much similar to "physical" business minus the
brick and mortar. There is a lot of hard work involved to slowly plan, build
and grow your business online in an ever-increasing competitive World Wide
Web before you start to see some results.
Third World Internet
Marketers may face more challenges but it only mean that we need to work even harder than
our
counterparts, and continue to find solutions or alternatives to overcome any
obstacle.
